1803 Draped Bust Dollar. Large 3

1803. Large 3. B-6; BB-255. PCGS Genuine, Cleaned-VF Detail. Light mottled grayish-violet tone and quite attractive despite the minor cleaning. This coin would certainly be a high end Very Fine if it had graded with considerable hair definition remaining and feather detail on the eagle. This is the final year of issue of the Draped Bust dollars (aside from some special 1804 dated dollars made well after 1830). The Large 3 in the date was only seen on two die pairings, the balance showing a smaller 3 style used in the date. Still and all, a nice collector coin which has a lot to offer (PCGS # 40101) Estimated Value $1,000 - UP
