Julius Caesar. Silver Denarius (3.47g), 49-44 BC. Struck at Rome, August 43 BC. No legend, wreathed head of Julius Caesar facing right. Reverse: L FLAMINIVS IIII VIR, Venus or Pax, standing left holding caduceus and sceptre. RRC 485/1; CRI 113, RSC 26, S-1423. "C" inverted counterstamp behind head. Well centered and boldly struck on a broad porous planchet. Toned a reddish-brown. Very Fine. Estimated Value $2,000 - UP
