Octavian. Silver Denarius (3.98g), ca. 38 BC. Mint of Gaul. IMP CAESAR DIVI IVLI F, bare head of Octavian right, slightly bearded. Reverse: M AGRIPPA COS / DESIG in two lines across field. Craw. 534/3; RSC 545; Sear 1543. Rare and seldom offered for sale. Pleasing old cabinet tone with slight iridescence. Very Fine. Estimated Value $400 - UP
This issue is the first coinage to bear the name of Marcus Agrippa.
