The Merchants Exchange National Bank, The City of New York. Fr-380b. KL-1086. Issued July 1st, 1865 with signatures of Stoddard B. Colby and General Francis E. Spinner. A lovely bright note with only three folds and two minor age ink holes caused by the acid in the dark black ink used by cashiers.

An historic note as this was hand signed by the Cashier of Bank, A.S. Apgar, a descendant off the Mayflower and passed on to a family member and continued to be saved and passed on by the great (step) grandfather of Allen Dubley Johnson. Lot includes handwritten notes to this provenance. Choice Very Fine. Estimated Value $1,200 - UP
From the decendants of the Cashier A.S. Apgar, Merchants Exchange National Bank of N.Y.C.
