Cilicia, Tarsos. Pharnabazos. Silver Stater, Achaemenid military commander, 380-374/3 BC. Struck ca. 380/79 BC. Baaltars seated left, holding lotus tipped scepter. Reverse: Bearded male head (Ares?) left, wearing crested Attic helmet. Casabonne series 4; Moysey issue 2; SNG BN 251; SNG Levante 71-2. Boldly struck, nicely toned with lustrous surfaces. Superb. Nearly Mint State. Estimated Value $750 - UP
