Testbanknoten: Nice folder of Arjowiggins (today Surys, France) containing a test banknote featuring the security feature ”Picture Thread” which shows small versions of the actual portrait on a banknote incorporated in the security stripe of the banknote. In this case they used the (among test notes) very famous portrait of Ludwig van Beethoven, printed intaglio in blue color on watermarked paper. This folder comes together with a second one of Arjowiggins featuring two DINA 4 sized watermark sample papers with the ”Pixel” watermark ”Beethoven 1 & 2”, the same watermarks which are used on actual KBA Notasys test banknotes with portrait of Beethoven. Interesting about the DINA 4 sheets is that they have a ”Specimen number” as watermark at lower right in the paper which make them a nice piece of archival material for the Arjowiggins production.
