★ Nice later stylisation of the Owl ★
Attika. Athens, circa 470-454 BC. AR Tetradrachm (Silver, 20.4 mm, 16.90 g.). Helmeted head of Athena to right, with frontal eye. Rev. AΘE, owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent to left; all within incuse square. SNG Copenhagen 31; Starr, Group IV; HGC 4, 1597. Die flow on face (countermark?), otherwwise, very fine. Typical for the period Irregular flan but very well centered facing head of the owl.
