IΣ[TI] – [AI]EΩN, nymph seated right on stern of galley; symbol wing on prow left. HGC 4, 1525. Lightly toned. Good very fine. The ancient city of Histiaia, located on the northern coast of the island of Euboea in Greece, is well-known for its distinctive and beautiful coinage, particularly from the Classical period. The civic late tetrobols were produced under Macedonian influence.
