Macedon, kings. Philip II, 356-336 BC. Silver Tetradrachm (24.2 mm, 13.92 g.). Amphipolis mint, ca. 355-348 BC. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠ - ΠΟΥ, Philip II on horseback to left, raising hand; M below raised foreleg. Le Rider, Group IB, 67; SNG ANS 462-66; HGC 3.1, 861. Very fine. Test-cut on reverse. nicely toned with some yellowish hues giving an attractive look even with the granular surfaces. Rarer lifetime issue of fine hellenistic style with rider to left.
