Description
Lydia. Hierocaesarea,Pseudo- Autonomous. First half of the 2nd century AD. (time of Trajan – Antoninus Pius, AD 98-161). AE (18.6 mm, 5.36 g). Artemis, wearing short chiton, standing left, placing hand on stag to left, holding bow in right; all within laurel wreath with berries. Rev. ΙЄΡΟΚ – ΑΙCΑΡЄΩΝ, stag standing right. Hochard 679 (D70/R95); Kurth 34; RPC III, 1867. Dark patina. Good very fine. Scarce.
