Philip II, 244–249 AD. Gold Aureus. (20 mm. 4,75 g.). Rome. M IVL PHILIPPVS CAES, bare-headed, draped bust of Philip II right. Rev. PRINCIPI IVVENT, Philip II standing left, holding globe and spear. RIC 218a; Cohen 46; Calicó 3275. Undoubtedly among the finest specimens known. Struck on a broad flan, perfectly centered, lustrous specimen, extremely fine. Very Rare.
