Attica, Athens, circa 353-294 BC. AR Tetradrachm (22mm, 17,13 g.). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with three olive leaves and palmette, round earring. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing to right, head facing; behind, olive spray and crescent moon. Svoronos pl. 20. Typical for the later type irregular flan, otherwise, about good very fine. With a typical for the period thick, irregular flan and slightly stylised image of the emblematic owl on the reverse. Unusually clear image of the goddess Athena with her later portrait.
