Macedon, Philippi, Divus Marcus Aurelius. died in 180 AD. AE (25mm, 10,7 g.). Struck after 180 AD. DIVO MAR ANTONINO Radiate head of Marcus Aurelius to right Rev. C P Roma standing left, holding spear in her left hand and phiale in her right, sacrificing over a low altar to the left; all with the gate of Philippi, formed of two high round towers connected by a curved wall behind with three square turrets. M. Amandry, Le monnayage de la Res Publica Coloniae Philippensium, Stephanos Numismatikos, p.27, 10a. Attractive, slightly rough brownish patina, otherwise Nice Very Fine. Very rare (perhaps one of only 5 examples known).
