Thrace. Dikaia. Circa 480-450 BC. AR Triobol (12 mm, 1,92 g.). Head of bearded Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Rooster moving to right; all in shallow incuse square. BMC 3 (this obverse die). HGC 3, 1452. May, Dikaia-By-Abdera, 23 (A20/P19) = McClean 3986. Schönert-Geiss, Bisanthe, 44 (V8/R5). Of the highest late Archaic- early Classical style, an impressive coin, even slightly irregular flan and not well centered obverse still very attractive and desirable issue (see Nomos 30, lot 1268 realized for 1800 CHF). Very Rare.
