Gordian III (238-244 AD.) AR Denarius (20mm, 3.00g.) Rome mint, struck 241-2 AD. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from back. Rev. DIANA LVCIFERA, Diana Lucifera standing right holding long, lighted torch. RIC 127; RSC 69; SRCV 8673. This denarius was part of a large emission of denarii with several reverse types in honor of the marriage of Gordian III and Tranquillina. Lustrous FDC.
