Egypt, Alexandria. Nero, LΕ = year 5 (AD 58/9). BL, Tetradrachm. 13.04 g. 24.78 mm.
Obv: ΝΕΡΩ ΚΛΑΥ ΚΑΙΣ ΣΕΒΑ ΓΕΡ ΑΥΤΟ. Laureate head of Nero, right.
Rev: ΝΕΟ ΑΓΑΘ ΔΑΙΜ, L Ε. Serpent Agathodaemon, right, with ears of corn and poppies.
Ref: RPC 5240.
Very Fine.
Coins bearing the serpent's name were struck quite rarely in Alexandria.
