★ ♥ Lovely Classical compact style. ♥ ★

Attica, Athens. AR, Tetradrachm. 17.20 g. - 26.21 mm. Circa 454-404 BC.
Obv.: Head of Athena to right with almond-shaped profile eye, wearing crested Attic helmet ornamented with three olive leaves above visor and spiral palmette on bowl, round earring with central boss and pearl necklace.
Rev.: ΑΘΕ. Owl, with closed wings, standing right, with head facing; olive twig with two leaves, one berry and crescent, in upper left field; all within incuse square.
Ref.: Kroll 8; HGC 4, 1597.
Well-centered on a very broad flan and lightly toned and most attractive. Virtually as struck. Extremely fine.
