Description

Kings of Thrace (Macedonian). Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. AR, Tetradrachm. 17.12 g. - 28.95 mm. Lifetime issue, Pella (?), 286/5-282/1 BC.
Obv.: Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, wearing horn of Ammon.
Rev.: BAΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΛYΣIMAXOY. Athena seated left on throne, Nike crowning royal name in outstretched right hand, resting left arm on grounded shield decorated with gorgoneion head boss, transverse spear beyond; complex monogram in wreath in inner left field, AP monogram in exergue.

Well-centered and struck in high relief, very fine.
