Thrace, Bizya. Philip I, AD 244-249. AE. 19.65 g. 32.83 mm.
Obv: ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΙΟΥΛ ΦΙΛΙΠΠ[ΟϹ ΑΥΓ]. Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip I, right.
Rev: ΒΙΖΥΗΝΩΝ. Philip I and Philip II in military dress, on horseback, right, raising right arms, being acclaimed by figures (legionaries?) in front of them.
Ref: RPC unassigned; ID 70242; CNG E-Au 361, Lot 791 (hammer 3500 USD).
Very Fine.
Very rare. There are only two examples in RPC.
Artificial patina.
