Manuel I Comnenus, AD 1143-1180. EL, Aspron Trachy. 2.96 g. 30.60 mm. Constantinople.
Obv: IC – XC. Christ, bearded and nimbate, standing facing on dais, holding book of gospels; a star to left and right.
Rev: [MANΩHΛO] - ΘЄΟΔΩ[ΡOC]. Manuel, bearded and wearing crown, divitision and loros, and St. Theodore, bearded and nimbate, wearing military dress, both standing facing, each holding swords, and together holding a patriarchal cross between them with large globe at base pellet on cross shaft.
