AE Byzantine stamp seal (AD 6th–7th centuries)
A bronze pyramid-shaped stamp seal with suspension ring to the top; engraved to the base, facing figure wearing the loros and pendilia.
The figure is depicted in ceremonial costume of the Byzantine empire, worn only by the imperial family and a few of the most senior officials. Remarkable iconography. Cf. Concordia 2, 1032.
