Asia Minor, Uncertain. AR Hemiobol, 0.38 g 9.45 mm. Circa 5th century BC.
Obv: Forepart of animal (boar or dolphin ?) to left.
Rev: Lion’s head right with open jaws and tongue protruding; E below.
Not found in consulted references. Very rare.
An interesting coin: well struck but indicating a contemporary imitation. Its prototype is hard toidentify, but as a wild guessonemight suspect a Kyzikos Obol.
