PB Byzantine seal of Constantine Oumpertos, protokouropalates and doux (AD 11th century)
Obv: The Mother of God, holding the medallion, standing between the archangels Michael (left) and Gabriel. Sigla on either side of her head: [Μ(ήτηρ) Θ(εοῦ)]. To the lower left of the figure of St Michael: [Μιχα(ήλ)]. No sigla visible by the archangel at right. Border of dots.
Rev: Inscription of six lines beginning with a cross: [Κ(ύρι)ε β(οή)θ(ει) τ]ῷ σῷ δού(λῳ) [Κ]ων(σταντίνῳ) (πρωτο)κουρ(ο)[πα]λάτι (καὶ) [δουκὶ τῷ] Οὐμπέρτῳ. A decoration below. Border of dots.
Translation: Lord, help your servant Constantine Oumpertos, protokouropalates and doux.
