PB Byzantine seal of George chartoularios (AD 7th century)
Obv: An eagle with its wings outspread. Above, a cruciform invocative monogram (type IX): Θεοτόκε βοήθει. Wreath border.
Rev: Inscription of three lines: Γεωργίῳ χαρτουλαρίῳ; cross above. Wreath border.
Translation: Theotokos, help George chartoularios.
Weight: 14.18 g.
Diameter: 29.11 mm.
