Description

AE Eastern Mediterranean/Aegean. Four-nomismata weight. AD 4th-6th centuries. AE. 16.56 g. 29.45 mm.
Made from a Roman coin (Roma, Lugdunum. Nero, AD 67. Sestertius). On the obv., legend illegible, bust of Nero, l., laureate. On the rev., DECVRSIO, emperor prancing to right on horseback, holding spear; soldier behind riding to right, holding vexillum; S-C across fields. Weight is flower in form. It is a four-nomismata weight.
