★ Very Rare Name: Theodikios ★

PB Byzantine lead seal of Theodikos hypatos (c. AD 7th–8th centuries)
Obv: An eagle with its wings outspread. Between the wings, a cruciform invocative monogram (type I): Θεοτόκε βοήθει. Wreath border.
Rev: Inscription of three lines: + Θεόδικίῳ ὑπάτῳ +. Wreath border.
Translation: Theotokos, help Theodikios hypatos.

This very rare name, Theodikios, itself comes from the Greek term theodikia, which can be broken down into theos + dike, which is quite literally “God + justice,” meaning, “justifying God,” especially in light of the problem of evil.
