Russia Brass (Silvered) Jeton 1905 - For the Campaign to Japan, 1904-1905 - Nicholas II (1894-1917)
8.16g. 27mm. F/F. Suspension loop re-soldered. Unknown workshop. Peters 205; Peters N II 37. Quite scarce. The jeton was silvered over existing nicks, scratches and areas of corrosion.  The date of institution and official purpose of the medal remain unknown. It was produced by a private firm, modeled after the medal "For the Campaign to China." No records exist confirming that it was awarded officially. Most likely, this is a commemorative token with no connection to state-issued decorations.
