Latvia (Russia) Bronze Epaulette (early 20th cent. - before 1939) - Riga Polytechnic Institute (RPI)
29.41g. 46x58mm. The mounting prongs are broken off. Bronze epaulette badges like this one were used in the first half of the 20th century as part of the official uniform of students or cadets at the Riga Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Worn on shoulder epaulettes, these badges signified institutional affiliation and often denoted academic or technical specialization.
