The medal was silvered to enhance its appearance — a common historical practice intended to improve visual qualities by applying a silver or gold coating. It was also subtly darkened (patinated) to accentuate the finer details of the design. Rev.: The coat of arms of the Vorontsov-Dashkov family, adorned with laurel and palm branches and surmounted by a count’s coronet. Inscription around: ГРАФУ ИЛАРІОНУ ИВАНОВИЧУ ВОРОНЦОВУ ДАШКОВУ (To Count Ilarion Ivanovich Vorontsov-Dashkov). In field (left): ЧИНЫ | МИНИСТЕРСТВА | ИМПЕРАТОРСКАГО | ДВОРА | И УДѢЛОВЪ | 1891–1897 (Officials of the Ministry of the Imperial Court and Appanages | 1891–1897). This medal was issued in honor of Count Ilarion Vorontsov-Dashkov’s service as Minister of the Imperial Court and Appanages between 1891 and 1897. A prominent statesman and general, Vorontsov-Dashkov held key administrative and military posts, including Governor-General of the Caucasus. The medal was commissioned by officials of the Ministry to commemorate his leadership and contributions.
