23.43g. 41mm. UNC/UNC. PROOFLIKE. Drentwett Mint in Augsburg. Medalier: Sebald Drentwett (signature below the exergue on reverse). Diakov 661.2. Ar - R3; Hauser 804; Wurzbach 7142; Pax in Nummis 816. Obv.: Seven national arms (Austria, France, Turkey, Sardinia, Prussia, Great Britain, and Russia) arranged in a decorative circle, surrounding the date 1856 in the center. Between the shields — scrolling foliage and angelic motifs. Rev.: Allegorical figure of Europe seated to the left, holding a sword and a shield inscribed with the names of the seven powers. She receives an olive branch from winged Victory approaching from the right. BEWAHRE DEINEN FRIEDEN DURCH IHN ERBLÜHET | SEGEN UND CLÜCK (Preserve your peace, through him shall blossom blessing and fortune). Inscription below the exergue: SEBALD F. DRENTWETT.Commemorative medal marking the end of the Crimean War and the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1856.
