Abbasid (al-Basra) AR dirham AH 245 (859-60 AD) al-Mutawakkil ‘ala-llah (AH 232-247 / 847-861 AD)
2.68g. 24mm. XF/XF. With heir al-Mu‘tazz bi-llah. Album 230.3. Not in Shams Eshragh. A lovely specimen representing the Middle Abbasid epigraphic style, developed between 832 and 892 AD. It features a remarkable and relatively uncommon combination of mint and date.
