Gokke.Obv.: In the center on white enamel two coats of arms of the Livonia Governorate and Governorate of Esthonia with the imperial crown. Around, there is an inscription on green enamel: " • АРЕНСБУРГСКАЯ БРИГ. О.К. ПОГР. СТРАЖИ • ". Below, there is an inscription in black enamel in a recess: "Н.В. Гокке 1900-1905".Rev.: A golden horseshoe over a silver anchor. On the sides and at the bottom, there is an inscription in black enamel in a recess: "НА ДОБР. ПАМЯТЬ ОТЪ ТОВАРИЩЕЙ". In the center, there is engraving No. 8.Separate Corps of Border Guards - a specialized formation (corps, separate branch of the military) in the Armed Forces of the Russian Empire, intended for guarding the state borders. It was under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance but came under the control of the Ministry of War during times of military conflict.The officers of the Separate Corps of Border Guards held ranks equivalent to those in the cavalry of the Russian Armed Forces.During peacetime, the border guards' primary duty was to protect the borders and, in particular, to conduct border control at the boundaries of the Russian Empire.
