Russia (Finland) Bronze Medal 1894 - Unveiling of the monument to Alexander II in Helsinki (Helsingfors) - Nicholas II (1894-1917)
169.27g. 69mm. UNC/UNC. Obv.: Inside the circular inscription, there is a bust of Alexander II facing right, with the signature "GRILICHES" along the neck's edge. ALEXANDER II IMPERATOR ЕТ MAGNUS PRINCEPS. Rev.: The image depicts a monument dedicated to Emperor Alexander II in Helsinki (originally called Helsingfors). Below the line of truncation, the inscription reads "AUSPICIIS ALEXANDRI III | FENNIA GRATA | MDCCCXCIV" which translates to "Finland Grateful, by the command of Alexander III, 1894." To the right along the rim, the signature "GRILICHES JUNIOR" is noted. Medalier: A. Griliches-Son. Diakov 1096.1.
