LOW COUNTRIES, Vlaanderen (Flanders). Lodewijk II van Male. 1346-1384. AV Gouden Flandres (31mm, 4.15 g, 8h). Gand (Ghent) and Mechelen (Mechlin) mint. L V DOVICVS DЄI GRΛ COm’ DnS FLΛNDR I Є, Lodewijk standing facing within Gothic canopy, holding sword shield decorated with coat-of-arms; crested helmet to left; FLΛnDRES in exergue; ermines on cloak; annulet and double-annulet stops / + BЄИЄDICTVS QVI VЄИIT IИ ИOmInЄ DOmIИI, cross fleurée and feuillue; lion rampant in central quadrilobe; F L A D in quarters with eagle above each; all within quadrilobe; trefoils in spandrels; macron above A; double saltire stops.
