A bulk of old Russian banknotes brought to a European bank before the Russian Revolution of 1917. The full amount of this lot is 66,875 Roubles. According to the gold standard during the reign of Nicholas II one Rouble contained 0.774g fine gold. The amount of the banknotes in this lot would be then equal to 51,761g, which means over 50 kg fine gold. Calculated with today’s gold price this would be worth over CHF 2.9 Million! The lot consists of: 500 Roubles 1912, Peter the Great (both Shipov & Konshin), KM # 14: 121 pcs. 100 Roubles 1910, Catherine the Great (both Shipov & Konshin), KM # 13: 62 pcs. 25 Roubles 1909, Alexander III (Shipov), KM # 12: 7 pcs.
