PB Byzantine seal of Tiberius II Constantine (578-582).
Obv: Crowned facing bust, wearing consular robes, holding mappa and eagle-tipped scepter surmounted by cross. Inscription: [D M T]Ib CONSTAN[…]. Border of dots.
Rev: Cross potent on four steps. Inscription: VICTORIA AVCC [S]. Border of dots.
CNG 76, 1679 and 79, 1272, otherwise unpublished. Very rare imperial seal of Tiberius.
Condition: Very Fine.
Weight: 8.94 g.
Diameter: 23.2 mm.
