★ Very rare ★

AE Bronze Byzantine balance weight, six nomismata (AD 6th-7th centuries).
Discoid weight with centring points, and raised rims.
Obv: A punched denominational mark SN with decorative wavy pattern above and rectangular ornament below.
Rev: Plain except for centering point, within raised outer rim.
This piece is very rare due to the different order of the S and N on obverse. Cf. Bendall, 141; Dürr, 113; CPAI Turkey 3, 552.
Condition: VF.
Weight: 25.69 g.
Diameter: 27 mm.
