PB Byzantine lead seal. Sergios chartularios (6th century)
Obv: Mule walking l.; above, monogram: ΧΑ : χαρτουλαρίου. Wreath border.
Rev: Monogram of Sergios: Σεργίου. Wreath border.
A similar specimen of this very rare seal is Zacos 1387. For the monogram of Sergios, Feind 583.
Condition: Extremely Fine.
Weight: 11.93 g.
Diameter: 23.1 mm.
