EMPIRE OF NICAEA. John III Ducas (Vatatzes) (1222-1254). Trachy. Thessalonica. Obv: Facing half-length bust of St. George, holding spear and shield. Rev: Facing half-length busts of John and St. Demetrius, holding between them a staff surmounted by circle-in-cross and triangular decoration. Sear 2131. Condition: Near very fine. Weight: 3.15 g. Diameter: 23 mm.
