A roman amethyst intaglio. Head of young Bacchus. The effigy of the god, turned to the left, has the hair tightened on the nape by a braid, going down along the neck, and two small ivy leaves. The stone is cracked, but still complete. The work shows late ellenistic influences. 1st century B.C.
