The animal is facing left. Beautiful color of the stone, set in a close collet with ropetwist details, openwork, love knot shoulders and double wire shank. Published: Diana Scarisbrick for S.J. Provenance: From the collection of engraved gems formed by His Grace Arthur Richard Wellesley, 2nd Duke of Wellington (1807-1884); purchased from the family by S.J. Phillips in 1976.
