Egypt. Alexandria. Vitellius, 69. Tetradrachm (Billon, 25.05 mm, 11.72 g). Dated RY 1 (= 69). ΩΛOY OYIT KAIΣ ΣEB ΓEPM AYT Head laureate right. Rev. Victory advancing left holding wreath and palm; L A (date) in left field. Dattari 340 (this specimen). RPC I, 5372. Emmett 196. Geissen 260. BMC 218. Cfr. Vitellius' reign at Alexandria lasted only about two months, from circa May 69 when news of his victory over Otho on 16 April reached Egypt, until 1 July 69 when Vespasian was proclaimed Augustus at Alexandria.
