C. Julius Caesar. Denarius (Silver, 17.53 mm, 3.72 g). Military mint moving with Caesar in North Africa, late 48-47 BC. Diademed head of Venus right, wearing necklace. Rev. CAESAR vertical to right. Aeneas nude facing, advancing left with the left leg, the right leg straight, carrying Palladium to left on the left hand and his father Anchises draped, facing three-quarters slightly left, on the left shoulder. Crawford 458/1. Sydenham 1013. Babelon (Iulia) 10. BMCRR East 31. Light toned. Good Very Fine.
