M. Volteius M.f. Denarius (Silver, 17.35 mm, 4.11 g). Roma, 78 BC. Laureate head of Jupiter to right. Rev. Tetrastyle temple of Jupiter Capitolinus with closed doors; in pediment, winged thunderbolt; in exergue, M VOLTEI M F. Crawford 385/1. Sydenham 774. Babelon (Volteia) 1. Old cabinet tone. Thin flan crack and a curious quadrangular sign on the obverse, perhaps part of the die. Very Fine.
