KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17.82 mm, 4.13 g). Kolophon, struck under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, circa 319-310 BC. Issue in the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPO[Y] Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle with closed wings in his extended right hand and scepter in his left; below throne, monogram; in left field, monogram of ΣΩ. Price 1792b.
