KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19.41 mm, 4.13 g). Miletos, struck under Demetrios I Poliorketes, circa 295/4 BC. Issue in the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔP[OY] Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle with closed wings in his extended right hand and scepter in his left; below throne, double axe; in left field, monogram within circle.
