Sicily. Syracuse. Hieron II (275-215 BC). AE 27.5, c. 230-218/5 BC. Obv. Diademed head left. Rev. Warrior, holding couched lance, on horse prancing right; ΣΩ monogram below, [IE]PΩN[OΣ] in exergue. HGC 2 1548; CNS II 195; SNG ANS 952. AE. 17.38 g. 27.50 mm. Minor cleaning marks on obverse. Attractive example. Glossy green-brown patina. Good VF/VF.
