Greek Italy. Southern Apulia, Tarentum. AR Drachm, c. 240-228 BC. Obv. Head of Athena left, wearing crested Attic helmet with Skylla, earring and necklace; to right, AP monogram. Rev. Owl standing right on palm branch, with folded wings; to right, MI monogram. HN Italy -; Vlasto 1102 (same obv. die); HGC 1 907; SNG ANS 1326 (same dies). AR. 3.28 g. 18 mm. RRR. Very rare issue with exceptional style. Nice tone and centering. EF.
