Greek Italy. Southern Lucania, Thurium. AR 1/4 Obol, c. 443-410 BC. Obv. Head of Athena right, wearing wreathed Attic helmet. Rev. Monogram consisting of a large Π (= penta) containing smaller T (= tetartemoria); [NY above]; ΘΟΥ below. HN Italy 1884; Garrucci, pl. CVI, 31. AR. 0.41 g. 9.00 mm. RRR. Choice example of this extremely rare issue, interesting and very seldom offered. Darkly toned over intact surfaces. Good VF/About EF.
