Roma/Wheel series. AE cast Quadrans, 265-242 BC. Obv. Dog right; in exergue, three pellets. Rev. Wheel of six spokes; between spokes, three pellets. Cr. 24/6b; Vecchi ICC 70; HN Italy 329; Garrucci tav. XL, n. 3; Haeberlin taf. 25, n. 14. AE. 69.73 g. 39.50 mm. RRR. Extremely rare, few specimens known. Enchanting green patina with brown hues. Good VF. The variety with the dog to the right on the obverse is cited by various authors, each of whom indicates only one known example.
